I am currently an associate professor of philosophy at Idaho State University. I received my Ph.D. from Yale's Philosophy and Classics program in 2016, after first falling in love with both subjects in the liberal arts context at Haverford College. My work uses philosophical and philological tools to understand ancient texts and put them in conversation with modern problems.
Right now I am working on several projects related to philosophical method in Plato and some of its precursors in the Greek sophistic movement. I am also actively involved in the Open Plato Project. My historical interests extend through early modern philosophy and across east/west boundaries; they connect with my interests in method, explanation, and epistemology more broadly. These same interests form the core of my teaching.
